Morning Prayer Service and Holy Eucharist enrich the St. John's community at this coming together of our spiritual leaders, music leaders, laypersons, friends, and families of the Lord. Visitors are genuinely welcome at all worship services. A fellowship gathering in the Parish Hall follows the 11 a.m. service.
perform an important role in the procession and recession of the minister, deacon, and choir at the Sunday service. They carry torches and the crucifix for both. Senior acolytes also assist with the alms basins during the offering and in the presentation of the elements for communion. This service to the Lord's bidding enables the acolyte to learn the Episcopal Church traditions and liturgy while assisting the celebrant and the congregation. Fifth grade through senior high students are welcome to participate.
assist the celebrant in leading the congregation. Volunteers from high school freshmen to retirees receive special training to attain a comfort level that enriches the services.
classes are held every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m., September through May, and are structured to teach our young people about God, the Bible, the life of Christ, and the Episcopal Church. The youth of St. John's are encouraged to choose a spiritually enriched path for guidance as they grow to adulthood.
is provided by a professional child caregiver and serves children from birth thru age two. Sundays: 8:45 a.m. to the end of the 11 a.m. service.
offers a choice of two formats each Sunday, an in-depth discussions of the Lectionary readings and a contemporary-based format dealing with current social issues. Sundays: 10:00 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. |
