USED BOOK SALES Monies raised from the sale of the used books through the month of August will be used to support Elderhomes, Inc. This organization is responsible for the ramps that our men and women volunteer their services. These ramps are installed on homes in the Tri-Cities area where people who are not able to get out of their homes and not otherwise able to afford to have the work done. The monies collected help with the purchase of materials for the ramps.CHANGES TO THE CHURCH LIBRARY - The library is in a state of flux but you are welcome to browse through the books and borrow one or more. I have removed most of the general books but have kept many current spiritually based books as well as many resource books for Bible Study, etc. There are some very good read among them. Please take the time to see what is there. I hope to have a sale within the next few weeks on the general books with the funds to go back into the library fund for new purchases.PROPERTY: The property committee is always looking for someone to give a hand especially at this time of the year to work in the yard and the gardens. I have noticed a few weeds popping up and I bet that a few hands could eliminate them in quick order. Also the grounds beside the youth house are in great need of some work. I know it is very hot and humid right now, but maybe in another week it will cool down and in the early morning or early evening it might be a good time. You don't need a schedule or report to anyone, just go ahead and see what you can do. ICE CREAM SOCIAL The Shepherd Center of Chesterfield cordially invites all adults over 50 to a free Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, August 26th at 6:30 p.m. Entertainment by Senior Connections Choir of Richmond and demonstrations by their ballroom dancing and Tai Chi instructors and students. OUTREACH COMMITTEE in the pew racks please notice the small orange papers. Fill these out with your Food Lion MVP number and help the outreach committee support the children we sponsor through the Christian Children’s Fund. Thanks!
