Stop Hunger NowSunday, October 18, is the date of our Stop Hunger Now meal packaging event. if you've been at one of our previous events, you know that it's a fast-paced, fun morning. We'll need volunteer help that morning to set up and prepare the Parish Hall, package the meals and breakdown after the event. Our pledge this year is to package 10,152 meals, the ingredients of which will be paid for by our donations totaling $2,944.08. There are two ways for you to help: Contribute your time and energies the day of the event, and/or make a donation toward our funding goal. Stop Hunger Now has created a website where you can register to participate in the event, and also make a donation. Click here to see our progress toward our goal. Donations are also accepted in the offering plate with Stop Hunger Now notation in a check's memo field, or with cash in an envelope labeled Stop Hunger Now.If you'd prefer to write-in your volunteer registration, sign-up sheets are in place in the front, rear vestibules, and in the Parish Hall. There will be jobs for almost all ages at the event; you needn't be a member of St. John's to be a part of it. Friends and neighbors are all welcomed.
