Be sure to have your Kroger Plus card handy and register your card with your organization after you sign up. If you do not yet have a Kroger Plus card, they are available at the customer service desk at any Kroger. Click on Sign In/Register. Most participants are new online customers, so they must click on SIGN UP TODAY in the New Customer box. Sign up for a Kroger Rewards Account by entering zip code, clicking on favorite store, entering your email address and creating a password, agreeing to the terms and conditions. You will then get a message to check your email inbox and click on the link within the body of the email. Click on My Account and use your email address and password to proceed to the next step. Click on Edit Kroger Community Rewards information and input your Kroger Plus card number. Update or confirm your information. Enter NPO number or name of organization, select organization from list and click on confirm. To verify you are enrolled correctly, you will see your organization’s name on the right side of your information page.
Lectionary-Based Bible Study: returns in September. A Lectionary-based Bible study takes place on Wednerdays in Dale's office from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. From 5 - 5:30 PM, a period of private prayer is held with Evening Prayer said at 5:30 PM.
Youth Christian Formation: Will return in September. Youth ages 3 through "the young at heart" are all welcome to attend the first Sunday evening of the month from 6:00-7:30 PM in the parish hall. Dinner is provided as well plenty of fellowship and laughter.
Christian Adult Formation: Centering Prayer: returns in September. The Centering Prayer group meets Sundays from 4 - 5:15 PM in the Library. Centering Prayer is a popular method of contemplative prayer placing emphasis on interior silence and cultivating an awareness of geing in God's presence. Each session begins with a period of Center Prayer followed by a time of discussion and reflection on Thomas Keating's book Open Mind, Open Heart.
Chesterfield Food Bank (CFB): St. John's volunteers at the CFB on the 2nd and 4th of the month from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM Contact John Howsmon at 530-2993 with questions. Please try to sign up by Monday preceding each volunteer opportunity. Sign-up online at http://bit.ly/foodbankstjohns.
The Gathering Place: join middle and high school youth at 1:45 PM in the church parking lot the 4th Sunday of each month on to travel to the Gathering Place for worship and fellowship. We will return by 4 PM.
Used Book Sale: Gently-used books are in need of a home in the parish hall.
Men's Bible Study: Group meets the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at 8 AM in the parish hall for breakfast and lively discussion. All men of the church are invited to attend. Bingo Prizes Needed : We are in need of prizes to give out to our friends at Lucy Corr during games of Bingo. Appropriate prizes include sugar-free cookies (no hard candy), socks, lap blankets, large print books, puzzles, or word-search books, boxes of tissues, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, small stuffed animals.If you can provide any of these prizes, please bring them to the church office.
Birthday Box: The Birthday Box is probably Outreach’s oldest project first started over 20 years ago. It is in the back of the nave waiting for kind people to feed it in celebration of a birthday or other special occasion. Each quarter, Outreach selects an animal gift from Heifer International to purchase with the money people have given.
Food Pantry: Donation boxes are located in the narthex and outside the church office.
