RAM CLOTHING DRIVE: May 22 – June 19: The Remote Area Medical (RAM) clinic will be held in Wise County this year from July 22 to 24. In support of Redeemer Midlothian’s clothing tent at this clinic, St. John’s will be collecting gently-used clothing and other items, beginning May 22 and running through June 19.
Items needed are:
Undergarments (must be new):
Underwear and socks (men, women, and children), undershirts for men, and bras for women.
Clothing Items (gently used):
Gently-used children’s, men’s, and women’s clothing is needed. Especially needed are warm clothing items such as sweaters and flannel shirts, outer clothing such as jackets and coats, jeans, ball caps, tennis shoes and work boots. Large sizes in adult clothing are most needed.
Other Items Needed.
Paperback books and children’s books, along with medical devices such as canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.

Lectionary-Based Bible Study: a Lectionary-based Bible study takes place on Wednesdays in Dale's office from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. From 5 - 5:30 PM, a period of private prayer is held with Evening Prayer said at 5:30 PM.
Youth Christian Formation: Our monthly youth gathering continues to be running strong. Youth ages 3 through "the young at heart" are all welcome to attend the first Sunday evening of the month from 6:00-7:30 PM in the parish hall. Dinner is provided as well plenty of fellowship and laughter. Also, with the new year, be thinking about Chanco on the James! Christian Adult Formation: Centering Prayer: The Centering Prayer group meets Sundays from 4 - 5:15 PM in the Library. Centering Prayer is a popular method of contemplative prayer placing emphasis on interior silence and cultivating an awareness of geing in God's presence. Each session begins with a period of Center Prayer followed by a time of discussion and reflection on Thomas Keating's book Open Mind, Open Heart.

The Gathering Place: join middle and high school youth at 1:45 PM in the church parking lot the 4th Sunday of each month on to travel to the Gathering Place for worship and fellowship. We will return by 4 PM.
Used Book Sale: Gently-used books are in need of a home in the parish hall.
Men's Bible Study: Group meets the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at 8 AM in the parish hall for breakfast and lively discussion. All men of the church are invited to attend. Bingo Prizes Needed : We are in need of prizes to give out to our friends at Lucy Corr during games of Bingo. Appropriate prizes include sugar-free cookies (no hard candy), socks, lap blankets, large print books, puzzles, or word-search books, boxes of tissues, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, small stuffed animals.If you can provide any of these prizes, please bring them to the church office.
Birthday Box: The Birthday Box is probably Outreach’s oldest project first started over 20 years ago. It is in the back of the nave waiting for kind people to feed it in celebration of a birthday or other special occasion. Each quarter, Outreach selects an animal gift from Heifer International to purchase with the money people have given.
Food Pantry: Donation boxes are located in the narthex and outside the church office.
