Supper Seminar: The Lenten Progam Supper Seminar and conversations begin on Feb 25. A supper is served at 6 PM, and the evening ends at 7:30 PM. Sign-up sheets are available and will allow a proper amount of materials and dinner to be prepared.
Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are needed to read to children at Marguerite Christian Elementary once a month for 5 months. Dates are Jan 29, Feb 20, Mar 19, Apr 30 and May 22 from 10 - 11 AM. For more information and to offer services, contact Ms. Taffy at 520-6015.
Bible Study and Evening Prayer: a time of study, rest, and renewal. Beginning at 3:30 pm on most Wednesdays, there is a lectionary-based Bible study, 5 pm offers private prayer in the Nave, and 5:30 PM is Evening Prayer.
Chesterfield Food Bank (CFB): St. John's volunteers at the CFB on the 2nd and 4th of the month from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM Contact Angela Howsmon at firstname.lastname@example.org or 530-2993 with questions. Please try to sign up by Monday preceding each volunteer opportunity.
The Gathering Place: join middle and high school youth at 1:45 PM in the church parking lot the 4th Sunday of each month on to travel to the Gathering Place for worship and fellowship. We will return by 4 PM.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: If you are interested in participating in this ministry, contact Sherry at email@example.com. You can support the needle workers with contributions to purchase yarn. A jar is on the table at the entrance to the Nave. If using a check, put Prayer Shawl in the memo line Yarn contributions are also helpful.
Used Book Sale: Gently-used books are in need of a home in the parish hall.
Men's Bible Study: Group meets the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at 8 AM in the parish hall for breakfast and lively discussion. All men of the church are invited to attend. Bingo Prizes Needed : We are in need of prizes to give out to our friends at Lucy Corr during games of Bingo. Appropriate prizes include sugar-free cookies (no hard candy), socks, lap blankets, large print books, puzzles, or word-search books, boxes of tissues, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, small stuffed animals.If you can provide any of these prizes, please bring them to the church office.
Birthday Box: The Birthday Box is probably Outreach’s oldest project first started over 20 years ago. It is in the back of the nave waiting for kind people to feed it in celebration of a birthday or other special occasion. Each quarter, Outreach selects an animal gift from Heifer International to purchase with the money people have given.
Martha's Pantry: Donation boxes are located in the narthex and outside the church office.
