DVD series on Experential Faith: Diana Butler Bass has prepared a wonderful five-session DVD series on experential faith. In Embracing Spiritual Awakening, she explores the realities of religion and spiritual in today's world. This time of conversation and reflection will be held on Sunday afternoons in May from 4:30 pm until 5:30 pm.
RAM Clothing Drive/Underwear Under Two: The Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clothing Drive runs through June 21. Items needed are:
Undergarments (must be new): Underwear and socks (men, women, and children), undershirts for men, and bras for women.
Clothing Items (gently used): Children's clothing, men's suits/sport coats, warm clothing such as sweaters and flannel shirts, outer clothing such as jackets and coats, ball caps and shoes. Large sizes in adult clothing are most needed.
Drop-off boxes are available outside of the office area. Questions may be addressed to Brenda Wood or Teresa Duncan. Fill up the boxes, and Fr. Dale promises sermons under two minutes for the month of August!
Wednesdays at St. John's: Wednesday, May 20, will be the last lectionary-based Bible study and Evening Prayer, until August 5 when the schedule will resume. The spiritual journey requires us to pause from time to time and refocus. In Dale's office, a lectionary-based Bible study is at 3:30 PM, followed by 5:00 PM private prayer, and 5:30 PM evening prayer.
Monthly Book Group: On June 11, the monthly reading group will discuss Follow Me: Christian Growth on the Pilgrim's Way by Brett Webb-Mitchel. The author gives a collection of essays and reflections on the pilgramages he has taken and the patience, perserverance, and self-control taught. The group meets in Dale's office at 7 PM and ends by 8:30 PM.

The Gathering Place: join middle and high school youth at 1:45 PM in the church parking lot the 4th Sunday of each month on to travel to the Gathering Place for worship and fellowship. We will return by 4 PM.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: If you are interested in participating in this ministry, contact Sherry at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can support the needle workers with contributions to purchase yarn. A jar is on the table at the entrance to the Nave. If using a check, put Prayer Shawl in the memo line Yarn contributions are also helpful
Used Book Sale: Gently-used books are in need of a home in the parish hall.
Men's Bible Study: Group meets the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at 8 AM in the parish hall for breakfast and lively discussion. All men of the church are invited to attend. Bingo Prizes Needed : We are in need of prizes to give out to our friends at Lucy Corr during games of Bingo. Appropriate prizes include sugar-free cookies (no hard candy), socks, lap blankets, large print books, puzzles, or word-search books, boxes of tissues, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, small stuffed animals.If you can provide any of these prizes, please bring them to the church office.
Birthday Box: The Birthday Box is probably Outreach’s oldest project first started over 20 years ago. It is in the back of the nave waiting for kind people to feed it in celebration of a birthday or other special occasion. Each quarter, Outreach selects an animal gift from Heifer International to purchase with the money people have given.
Martha's Pantry: Donation boxes are located in the narthex and outside the church office.
Ronald McDonald House: If you would like to help prepare meals, we need approximately six volunteers each time we serve. Breakfast will be prepared on May 30. If interested in helping, contact Angela Howsmon (530-2993).
